Am I dead? No. Not dead, he told me.
But surely not quite alive, either. How could I be? I remembered my name-Mara. But, standing in the ghostly place, still shuddering at the memory of the creeping yellow mist that had awoken me in that strange, silent land, I could recall nothing else about myself.
And then the games began.

Book Review 5: The Merciless

BOOK REVIEW 5: The Merciless

I have finished The Merciless by Danielle Vega and it's really really good.
Here's the summary of the book:
Brooklyn Stevens sits in a pool of her own blood, tied up and gagged. No one outside of these dank basement walls knows she’s here. No one can hear her scream.

Sofia Flores knows she shouldn’t have gotten involved. When she befriended Riley, Grace, and Alexis on her first day at school, she admired them, with their perfect hair and their good-girl ways. They said they wanted to save Brooklyn. They wanted to help her. Sofia didn’t realize they believed Brooklyn was possessed.

Now, Riley and the girls are performing an exorcism on Brooklyn—but their idea of an exorcism is closer to torture than salvation. All Sofia wants is to get out of this house. But there is no way out. Sofia can’t go against the other girls . . . unless she wants to be next. . . .

This books picks up really quickly, the beginning of the book is already a little creepy when Sofia went to school. It only escalates from there. However, the really creepy part starts after Sofia went to the party and something happens.
I have heard many people say that this book is like Pretty Little Liars and I see why.  This book is a YA Horror with plenty of gore. I really like this book as it is intense, amazing plot, fast paced, creepy and gory. I will rate this book about 4.5-5/5 stars as i really love it.
Hope you guys will pick this book up.
PS. I have heard that this book is going to be adapted into a movie and the creator of Pretty Little Liars is going to be involved so it's definitely going to be great!!

This book is about a boy named Jacob Portman, when his was young, his grandfather, Abraham kept telling him stories about these peculiar children. When Jacob grew older, he doesn't believe these stories anymore and thought it was his grandfather's bad childhood that make him think this way. One day, his grandfather died and he saw the thing that killed his grandfather, which looked like a creature!!! The story goes on and Jacob Portman started to reveal things that he had never known. I really enjoyed reading this book as the writing is very beautiful and interesting, also the plot of the book is something that is really unique and is filled with adventures. It feels like every single page of the book have something interesting that happened. This book also includes some pictures which makes me understand more about the characters and the story.

I recommend this book to readers who loves adventure and mystery.
